‘Bulgaria's Public Procurement laws have been substantially revised to comply with EU rules and practices following the inclusion of the country to the EU in 2007.’ ‘The revised Procurement laws state that up until 2007, preferences were given for the Bulgarian small and medium companies over public tenders.’ ‘Changes in the Food Law have also been implemented, forcing food producers and retailers to meet certain quality requirements regarding working conditions and hygiene standards.’ ‘The business environment is expected to become more transparent and well-regulated, giving a clearer direction for prospective market entrants.’ ‘There are no restrictions on trading hours but shops are generally open Monday-Friday 10am-8pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
